How to use honey in order to be useful

Since February 2017, Publicity Creating implements an educational information campaign "A lot of honey does not happen", initiated by the trademark "Znatniy Med". Under the program, it is planned to increase the awareness of consumers and the general public about the benefits of  consumption of natural honey, which is a valuable product, and since ancient times is used to prevent and treat many ailments.

According to statistics, Ukraine is one of the three largest honey producers in the world, and is one of the largest exporter of honey to Europe. Over the past 10 years, the volume of Ukrainian honey exports has increased 7-fold, mainly due to exports to EU countries.

Following the results of 2016, Ukraine exported record volumes of honey - 56.9 thousand tons, which is 58.2% more than in 2015. In terms of money, exports in 2016 amounted to 97.3 million dollars. That on 15.8% is more than in 2015. The three largest importers of Ukrainian honey - Germany, Poland and the United States.

The main reason why Ukrainian producers actively sell honey abroad is European prices, export volumes grow annually, and the EU quotas for duty-free delivery of a sweet product are "exhausted" in few days.

Experts predict that with such high rates of export growth, there may be a deficit of honey in the domestic market. At the same time, more and more poor-quality honey appears on the markets, and "shop" honey after heat treatment loses all valuable qualities. Experts advise - the best way to protect yourself from falsification is to purchase natural honey directly from beekeepers who care about their reputation and quality of products.

Today, the level of honey consumption by Ukrainians, on average, is 1-1.2 kg per year (for comparison, the inhabitants of Greece consume 1.4 kg per year, Australia - 1.6 kg per year). Is it much? In fact, if a person does not have contraindications to beekeeping products,  honey can be eaten daily. At the same time, dietitians say that the daily norm for an adult should not exceed 50 ml (4 tablespoons). In terms of 365 days, the level of consumption of honey can be more than 18 liters or more than 23 kg per person per year.

But in Ukraine consumers still perceive honey more as a "medicine" than a daily valuable food product, as well as a useful dessert that does not contain sugar, dyes and preservatives. Also, not everyone knows how to consume honey properly (for example, it can’t be diluted in hot tea). That is why the implementation of an information campaign for consumers is very important.

In the framework of the information program, it is planned to spread news and press releases in the media, to support media relations, to publish and disseminate information on the benefits of honey in social networks, to prepare video reports and educational films, to tasting honey from the producer, and other events.
